Summer Updates from the Admission Team

The Outreach and Admissions team at Northlands Job Corps Center is having a very busy summer! The team is working hard to recruit new students to Job Corps throughout the state of Vermont. In its effort to recruit more Vermont students, the OA team is pairing up and driving in different regions of the state to hang up posters, fliers, and pull-tabs, and make connections with community partners.
The OA team started out in the Champlain Valley, which is the most populous area of Vermont. Admissions Counselors Sarah and Penny traveled through Chittenden County, home to Burlington, Vermont’s largest city. Sarah and Penny then traveled north through Franklin and Grand Isle counties, which are right on the border with Canada. While they were in the Champlain Valley, Sarah and Penny hung up Job Corps posters in convenience stores, libraries, and town clerk offices. Additionally, Northlands’ lead admissions counselor, Gene, and the pre-arrival specialist, Roxanne, traveled through Lamoille County to hang up posters and fliers. Some towns that Gene and Roxanne visited include Stowe, a small town with lots of shops and ski resorts, and Morrisville, where posters were hung up in stores and the local library.
The OA team is excited to continue their outreach efforts in other regions of Vermont!
