Students admire their work

Students make a difference

By Jeanne Vaughan, ODJCC Business & Community Liaison

Old Dominion Job Corps Center Landscaping students used their training and skills to assist Jubilee Family Community Center in sprucing up for an Open House at the Center. On Tuesday, October 25, 2011, the students accompanied their Home Builders Institute Instructor Mark Campbell to the Jubilee Center where they volunteered their time and talents to weeding the flower beds and mulching around the center. The students spread over 10 yards of mulch around the center and their work made a dramatic difference in the appearance of the Center.

The Jubilee staff expressed their appreciation many times over which boosted the confidence and motivation of ODJCC students to do the best job possible. This community service activity enhances the students training and offers the public a glimpse of the true spirit of our students.

Thank you ODJCC landscaping students for “Making a Difference” in others’ lives.
