NEWS, STORIES AND UPDATES FROM JOB CORPS CENTERS NATIONWIDE

One of Our Own

The Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps Center hosted their Community Relations Council and Center Industry Council meeting on December 7, 2012 in the center’s cafeteria.  There were over 50 guests in attendance giving a standing ovation to one of our own, Yoshua Carrillo.

Yoshua Carrillo spoke to our guest, students and staff at the meeting, giving his Job Corps success story as a Pharmacy student, Student Government Association Vice President, dorm leader, Student Ambassador, and Job Corps graduate.

Yoshua enrolled in Job Corps in March, 2012.  Yoshua completed the program December, 2012 with job attachment.  Yoshua’s Work Based Learning assignment was with Walgreens where he is now employed.    Yoshua’s story encouraged other students attending the meeting, made staff feel like proud parents, and showed our guest, “Job Corps Works”.
