Model Employee: Emergency Medical Technician Opens Doors

October 31st, 2011

American Medical Response team has nothing but wonderful things to say about Shamirah Powell, who is an excellent worker and role model for others.
July 2010, Shamirah Powell enrolled in the Philadelphia Job Corps Life Science Institute (PJCLSI) filled with wonder and enthusiasm about the program and all it has to offer toward planning and completing her career goals.  Shamirah knew exactly the training program she would pick: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).  After perseverance, hard work and little to no social life Shamirah endured (what seemed like) endless hours of study but the pay-off was great and what she expected. In fact it was more than she could imagine.  February 2011, Shamirah became a (1) successful completer, (2)certified in the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) trade, (3) a job, (4) full time, and (5)excellent benefits.  Shamirah was amazed. With all American Medical Response Ambulance services of Philadelphia had to offer. She has successfully completed her ninety day probation and after a successful six month follow up she has been employed approximately eight months. Shamirah absolutely loves her job.
The team says Shamirah is highly motivated and conscientious.  She is very reliable and always comes to work on time. The HR Manager says they wish there were more workers like Shamirah.
And because Shamirah Powell, is a good worker and model employee it will definitely opened doors for American Medical Response Services to hire more PJCLSI EMT graduates. Shamirah’s next goal is college to pursue her RN degree. We at the Philadelphia Job Corps are proud of our program graduate and EMT completer.  Congratulations Shamirah!
