An annual event for our local foster youth that provides a education program and Thanksgiving Day Dinner was held Nov. 22.  The event this year was held at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium where the world famous “Winter” the Dolphin lives and was filmed for the recent movie The Dophin Tale.  Our students participated in being mentors for the day for our foster youth as everyone toured the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and had a special showing with Winter.  The day also included a Thanksgiving Day dinner on the boat, Calypso.  The story of Winter is one that inspires everyone.  The trainer’s message to all of our youth was whatever the challenges in life they can be overcome.  Winter had lost her tail in crab trap and was rescued and given a prosthetic tail.  Our youth have all overcome many challenges and were amazed by Winter’s ability to swim and interact with the trainers.
