Potomac Job Corps Center Prepares Students for Voting

By: Barrington Tolliver

Potomac Job Corps Center has been preparing students to vote. Students have been encouraged to vote through daily emails and absentee ballots received on center. Each student will receive their absentee ballot through mail to send in their ballot completed. Potomac is also encouraging students to understand The Constitution of the United States was designed to dictate the structure and operations of government. The system of checks and balances helps maintain a balance of power while the amendment and ratification process allows for evolution as needed over time. The right to vote has always been a part of the U.S. Constitution, but thanks to several amendments passed throughout the years, it has undergone significant changes on six different occasions (Borroso, 2018)
Potomac is also making sure that students become aware of voting through social media to continue spreading the importance of voting. Students have been instructed to review the Board of Elections website for the following:
 The Candidates running for office
 Check your voter registration information to make sure your eligible
 Data Reports in your area
 News
 Locations to vote
