Governor and First Lady Visits Burdick Job Corps

North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple took time from his busy schedule in Minot on Thursday to visit Burdick Job Corps Center. He was accompanied by First Lady, Betsy, and Senior Policy Advisors, Dr. Andrea Travnicek and Kayla Effertz.  They arrived on center about 10 am and enjoyed a brief welcome and reception with staff and Student Government representatives.   Student Leaders, provided the entourage with a tour of the center.  The Governor expressed his pleasure at reviewing the trades. He remarked that he was familiar with the program but had never been here yet. He also has experience with students who found success at Burdick Job Corps in the past.  The visitors were enthusiastic when hearing about the work both Carpentry and Facilities Maintenance are doing at Oak Park to assist in the Summer of Hope recovery from the flood of 2011.  Governor and Mrs. Dalrymple were en route to work with the Summer of Hope group  in Minot upon departure from the center.
