Congressman Pearce Holds Career Fair

65 employers, one Job Corps Center and Congressman Pearce, were all at the civic center showing the community of Roswell that we are all wanting to improve the unemployment rate in Roswell.  Congressman Pearce commented during his town hall style speech to kick off the fair, “It’s real simple, when a company hires someone who is unemployed, they become tax payers.  That raises tax revenue and lowers spending.  It really is that simple.”

565 job seekers from Roswell, Artesia and Carlsbad walked through the doors to the event which started at 7:00am.  Businesses like Krumland Auto Group and Candlewood Suites were taking applications and interviews on the spot.  The Roswell Job Corps Center was promoting the program and was also taking resumes for its current staff openings.
