Auto At Work

On February 17, 2016 the Shriver Automotive class along with Darlene Buelow the Work Base Learning Coordinator, were invited by Kyle Horeanopoulos, the Service Director, at Prime Toyota in Lancaster, MA. The students were invited to take a tour of the Toyota Dealership. When they arrived they were met by Kyle, he introduced himself to the class and turned over the dealership tour to Joshua Shepard, one of Prime Toyota’s technicians and also a former Shriver Automotive student. Joshua spoke about the importance of employability skills needed to become employed by the dealership, their uniform, cleanliness, and showing up for your shift on time each day. Students and staff toured the dealership for approx. 90 minutes and at the end of the tour they were able to meet Jim Breitenwischer, Service Manager. Jim also spoke to the students on the importance of employability skills and having a strong resume. The auto students were very impressed by the tour and they asked many questions during the visit. We at Shriver would like to thank Kyle, Jim and Joshua for taking the time from their busy schedule to show how much work it is to run an auto dealership.
