Carpentry student goes from nothing to something!

Carpentry student goes from nothing to something!

Kylar Brown was a 2018 graduate of Shriver Job Corps in Devens, Massachusetts from the Carpentry trade.  His achievements at Shriver included his high school diploma, his permit and driver’s license, his trade completion and most importantly becoming eligible and being accepted into the Carpenter’s Union.  He is working his 3rd year apprenticeship for Bass Architectural Metals.  Coming into Job Corps he stated he had nothing but today……he has everything; an apartment, a car…….and a career!  Job Corps gave him the push and motivation he needed to focus on what he wanted for his career path and he certainly succeeded!  In his own words and feelings, here is a poem written by Kylar.   “There’s no such thing as the elevator to success.  There’s only the stairs.  Within those stairs you’ll eventually find the tools you need to build your dream tower.   And to learn how to live life and not struggle to survive.”
