Springdale Job Corps Center Welcomes Six New Students

On June 18th, six new students joined Springdale Job Corps Center. These are the first students since the Department of Labor lifted the hold on new enrollments.
The students come from Washington and Oregon. Health Occupations is the most popular trade with the new intake group, with Auto Body running a close second.
The new group was given a tour of the campus by student “ambassadors” and was shown all the features that make Springdale a fun and unique place to live and learn. Students visited the Boutique, were shown the dormitories and cafeteria, and visited all the trade classrooms.
The students are jumping right in to the activities on campus, with some of them signing up for service learning already. In the coming weeks, members of staff will be giving presentations on the different activities and learning opportunities on campus and in the surrounding community.
Naomi Ulsted, Center Director, says, “We’re excited about this new group. We’re looking forward to getting to know them and to seeing more new faces on campus as we continue to recruit.”
