Office Adminstration Don Johnson III Interns at Maylor Lee's Office

The week of May 20th, the Treasure Trove ran an article about a successful Office Administration student who has a bright future ahead of him. In the past article the student spoke about the work he was doing as an Intern at Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA), the importance of networking, and his future endeavors. Now we are pleased to announce that same student, Don Johnson III, was recently offered an internship at Mayor Lee’s Office of Education for the City of San Francisco.

While at MEDA, Don made contact with Hydra Mendonza, Head of the Education Department. Ms. Mendoza quickly gained interest in him and noticed a lot of Don’s great work qualities, such as Career and Personal Planning and ambition and personal growth, as well as, his sense of his own professional development. She then recommended him for this great opportunity. Don applied for the internship by writing a paper of why he would like to be selected and sending in a resume. In April 2016, Don had the honor to interview for the internship position. The selection process was very competitive, other applicants who also applied were college students from Universities in neighboring cities, such as University of California- Berkeley and San Francisco State University. Don had obtained the Microsoft suite certification while in his Office Administration class at Treasure Island. This was a huge benefit to him, being that his competitors did not have this credential. After two months, he was extended an offer and is currently working three days a week in the Office of the Mayor of San Francisco.
