KSU WEEK AT WHITNEY!!!!

KSU WEEK AT WHITNEY!!!!

The WMYJCC Committee kicked off Kentucky State University Week with an Onward and Upward Men’s Monday workshop emphasizing personal growth and development. After several presentations and personal stories were shared by staff, the day concluded with a ceremonial component with approximately 20 young men learning to tie a tie together. The students wrapped the wisdom they learned ceremoniously as they learned to tie a tie.
Tuesday was very informative as 20 WMYJCC students toured the KSU campus, met the professors and spent quality time with college students. Most of the students were able to “Catch a Class” which means sit in class for a while to feel the experience of college.
Wednesday was Learn College Greek Life…. Students were amazed watching staff sharing their experiences of Greek Life on campus and the beauty of being in a fraternity or sorority. Students heard how the Greek Life gives back to the community, creates a brotherly bond and is about wonderful women uniting together. Students asked many questions processed their option of attending KSU to further their education.
Thursday, students were informed about Kentucky State Application Day – all FAFSA, Grants, and Scholarships information were discussed to ensure students were well prepared to enter college.
Students interested in attending a KSU football game were asked to write an essay on Why Going to College Is Important to me or about an important person who went to KSU such as Whitney M. Young, Jr.
