Nutthasit Chujan graduates from Whitney M. Young, gets ready for welding career

We’re sending another one out into the world.

Nutthasit Chujan (Welding) has graduated from Whitney M. Young Job Corps Center and has secured himself a job at Roll Forming Company in Shelbyville, Ky. through Crossroads Professional Services.

And as he tells it, Chujan is very proud of his accomplishments. When asked what he was proud of upon completing the program, he simply said “everything!”

“If you don’t know something, you can learn from here,” he said.

Everything from math and reading to advanced skills such as welding.

And according to welding instructor Mark Sneed, Chujan excelled at a lot of those skills.

“He took pride in his work,” Sneed said. “He did really good welds, he paid attention to detail.”

According to Sneed, despite a few obstacles, Chujan came to Whitney ready to learn and kept his eyes on the prize.

“He’s always been quiet and an introvert instead of an extravert,” Sneed said. “His language was a barrier when he first came here, but welding is more about demonstration than anything else, so I believe he was able to shine in here.”

And with the skills he obtained at Whitney M. Young, Chujan will be able to shine there too.
