Whitney M. Young Jr. Grad, Jacob Adams, Now Makes $35 an Hour in Healthcare Field

Despite the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc nationwide on employment, Whitney M. Young Jr. Job Corps graduate Jacob Adams has been hired for a position that matches his skills set, meets an important need in the fight against COVID-19 and pays him #35 an hour.

Adams was hired June 16th as a temperature screening technician with All Stem Connections in Memphis, TN.

Adams completed the Certified Medical Assistant training program at Whitney M. Young Jr. Job Corps, earning a number of nationally recognized certifications, including Clinical Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician/Assistant, EKG, Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, First Aid, CPR and Electronic Health Records.  Adams also completed the Nutrition Education Program at Whitney M. Young Jr. Job Corps.

His success using his job training to launch a meaningful, lucrative career in the healthcare industry is testimony to the fact that our students can achieve their career goals regardless of the circumstances that they may face in life.
