Y2Y Ambassadors Lobbys for Anti-Bullying Bill

Y2Y (Youth to Youth) Ambassadors from the Whitney Young Job Corps Center operated by Horizon Youth Services headed to Frankfort, KY to meet with Senator Whitney Westerfield. The Y2Y student ambassadors lobbied for an anti-bullying bill name Alex Law. Senator Westerfield was very supportive and stated that the passage of the bill will take time before it becomes a law. Students know that more homework and preparation are needed, but wanted to show support of anti bullying in the community and in schools. The bill will hold students and teachers more accountable for their actions.

During their visit, the Y2Y students also met with various elected officials, and took pictures with Rep. Jim Glen, Joe Graviss, Senators Morgan McCarvey and Reggie Thomas. Students enjoyed talking about Y2Y and what it stands for.
