The Wilmington Job Corps Center’s student gov’t association, partnered with the Kingswood Community Center to provide a “Toys For Tots” community service project for the holiday season.
The SGA students solicited center staff and students to donate toys to this worthy cause. The Kingswood Community Center is a local organization which provides adult senior services, childcare and other varied type services to the community constituents.
Seventy children and over forty families registered to be recipients of the gifts. The center’s SGA actually wrapped each of the eighty-one gifts donated and student/santa elves delivered them to the site. Kingswood was overjoyed with the thoughtfulness of our young people and showed their appreciation with streams of tears. Tidings of great joy were going to make many children happy and content this holiday.
